Click! Flash! Gotcha! đ Hello! My name is Johnathan Williams. My childhood nickname is âSpudâ and my friends call me âDUBâ or âJ-Willzâ for short. I grew up in Dallas, TX but reside in Arlington, TX: home of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers (donât hate! Lol). I attended Mansfield Summit High School, and have an Associates of Art in Photography from Tarrant County College. From there I proceeded to extend my artistic abilities and received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film/Video. I absolutely love films (working on them too!), art museums, showcases, festivals and visiting galleries.
I started my photographic career in 2011, with a Canon 5D Mark 2 that I paid for with winnings from a casino in Duncan, Oklahoma. If I âd known that a little meddling with a slot machine, a whim, a dash of luck and $20 would grant me the camera of my dreams; those two years of saving wouldnât have taunted me as bad as they did.
Viewing through the lens has been a passion of mine since I my granddad blessed me with a Minolta and a roll of black and white film.Capturing candid and special moments is a special part of me. (It is a part of us really.) The connection that accompanies the photographer to his/her subjects is breathtaking, magical, mysterious and unique all at once. With this chemistry, I will embrace the moments of my subject/s as if they were mine. From a field of bluebonnets to Hawaiian sunsets, and from the spirit of Mardi Gras to the sharing of vows, I commit myself to the moment. You have an event, wedding, celebration or need portraits?
